School coordinator and instructor
I have twenty-five years in the Heating and HVAC industry. For ten of those years I owned and operated my own business. During that time I have taken an active part in the servicing and installation of heating and air conditioning equipment. We serviced and installed oil, propane and gas equipment, as well as chimney liners and in-floor heating equipment.
Over the years I have attended TSSA sponsored courses and related courses taught by CMHC and manufacturers of testing equipment, including courses that dealt extensively with topics such as indoor air quality and carbon monoxide testing.
I am involved with the Technical Committee for the Canadian Oil Heat Association (COHA). This committee works to shape the future of the heating industry and raises awareness of the regulations and codes through seminars and training courses.

Say the word "Hybrid" and what may come to mind first is an environmentally friendly, fuel-efficient car. However, as the demand for a certified, achieved recognized level of skills and knowledge increases, TS Technical College is discovering the many benefits of hybrid learning, including flexible scheduling and increased understanding by organizations and individuals about the activity in which they are involved.
Several trends are coming together that create a need for on-the-job recognition and understanding, in regards to supporting current and growing green initiatives that tackle climate change. Nationally, the federal government has made these issues a priority, especially in the Oil & Gas Industry, considered strategic for economic and security growth. Concern for the environment is one of the core values of TS Technical College, and was from the moment we opened our doors 12 years ago. Our Hybrid courses are designed to help improve the global competitiveness of business and industry through ensuring that their many workers are prepared.
Talk is one thing, real action is another!
